GIRLS U14 TEAM FINALISTS AT THE 2011 MAPS FALL CHALLENGE
Over Veterans Day weekend, the Velocity Girls U14 team advanced to the championship round at the 2011 Mid-Atlantic Premier Soccer Fall Challenge at Fort Dix, New Jersey.
Day one, the girls bested AC Premier '98 2-0 and Berkeley Heights YSC Blue Thunder 1-0. Day two, the team beat Wall SC Piranhas 1-0, advancing
to the semi-final round, where they won 3-1 against the Highland YSC Renegades.
In the finals, the girls met Wall SC Piranhas again, and this time lost 2-1 in a hard-fought match.
TOYS FOR TOTS DONATION
As part of Velocity's annual December kick-off pasta party, club members collected toys and games to donate to the Marine Toys for Tots foundation. Each year in October, November and December, Toys for Tots collects and distributes new and unwrapped toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the local community. For years Velocity has been - and continues to be - a proud participant in this program.
