Darren Boynton is the coach of the boys' 2009-10 U-15 boys team. This is the third year for the boy's team. Previously he had coached the U15 U18 (2003-07) girls team. Darren is also a coach for the Thornton Academy girls high school team. He holds a USSF National class "D" coaching license, a NSCAA Advanced National diploma, and is also a certified referee. Darren was selected by Soccermaine as the Coach of the year in 2001. In addition to his coaching duties Darren has served as the President of the Velocity Soccer club the past 5 years. He is also a Director at Large of Soccermaine, the governing body for soccer in the state of Maine. This year he was named head coach of the 94 Girls ODP team.
Tara Moore has a USSF class "E" coaching license. Tara played premier soccer for 5 years, first for MCU then her last 4 years for Velocity. She was the captain of her Velocity team for the all 4 years and served as the captain of the Deering High School freshman team and captained the varsity squad her senior year. Tara was the leading goal scorer / total points on her freshman team and her junior year. She was awarded the Deering Ram award her senior year. She also was a member of the Maine ODP team as a U15 and U-16. As a college freshman Tara played defense for Simmons College, where she started all 19 games. She transferred to the University of Southern Maine for her sophomore year, but to late to be eliglbe to play in 2008
