ROB RODRIGUEZ

Rob has been head coach of the U17/18 team since it was formed in the fall of 2004 and is currently Vice President of the Velocity Club.    He began his soccer coaching career in CT with the Naugatuck Youth Soccer Association in 1992 a few years before moving to Maine.   Before coming to Velocity, Rob was one of the founders of the Sacopee Valley Travel Soccer Club back in 1995 and was instrumental in the creation of the girls program at the high school several years later.   He served as a coach and president of the Sacopee Valley club for a number of years and was also on the Soccer Maine board of directors as southern district director.    In addition to holding a USSF Class D license and a level 8 referee license, Rob is licensed as a Personal Trainer and Sports Performance Enhancement Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and holds a level 3 certification as Youth Fitness Specialist, level 1 certifications in Speed & Agility and Youth Nutrition through the International Youth Conditioning Association (IYCA).    Rob works with high school athletes of all sports as regional scouting director for Maine, NH, and eastern Mass for Recruit Collegiate Sports Scouting and is currently running speed training for the Basketball Academy in Portland.
COACHES
BRIAN LIBBY

Brian is the Assistant Coach of the U17/18 girls team. He began his coaching career in 1997 with the Sacopee Valley travel soccer club.    After several years coaching travel soccer, he went on to assist with the Sacopee Valley high school boys, running their offseason training program for many years.     Brian also ran the recreational soccer program for Sacopee Valley for several years and is now looking forward to working at the premier level with the U16 Girls.   He has his E license.   Brian lives in Cornish with his wife Kelly and his two kids.
JOHN LOWELL

John is assistant coach for the U17/18 girls team.  John has been involved for several years with the Massabesic United Travel Soccer club where he continues to serve as Director of Coaching.  In addition he is the JV Boys coach for Massabesic High School.  John holds a USSF E license along with an NSCAA Level II Goalkeeping Diploma and is also a certified referee.

LIZ SAWYER has committed to play for Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA for the fall 2011 season.  A senior at Thornton Academy, Liz is in her fourth year as goalkeeper with her Velocity team.  

KARA SINGLETON has committed to play for Mount Holyoke College for the fall 2011 season.  Kara, a senior at Sacopee Valley High School, has been with her Velocity team for the past seven years.
